Smith Rock is obviously the go-to place for climbing in Oregon. It has a lot of options from bouldering to top roping to multi-pitch climbs. And with the climbers bivouac so close, it’s easy to start early and end late…and enjoy a hot shower.
Josh and Ethan started with setting up some easier routes to get warmed up and to give novice climbers (like me) a bit of fun.
Then we moved on to a route Ethan had been wanting to conquer for a while “Wedding Day,” a 5.10b. Well…he didn’t seem to have much trouble and flew right up it!

Josh followed Ethan and also took it out without any trouble.

Some B&W film shots I took and later home developed/scanned.

No matter your level, Smith Rock is a good place to go climb, run, hike, bike…and, if you’re brave, swim in the beautiful Crooked River that flows right through the park.
I’ll definitely be back for more!
