In the Summer of 2019, Brian Donnelly and Steven Mortinson took a week off of their day jobs to set out on a human-powered biking/surfing adventure. The mission: bicycle from their hometown of Portland, Oregon to the coast 100-miles away, surf and camp along the coast, and then return inland via a different route. This would be a 250-mile loop route connecting trails, logging roads, and highways. The catch: travel on the cheap: cheap bikes, cheap surfboard, cheap meals, cheap home-made trailers. This trip wouldn’t be without its trials and tribulations…but isn’t that the way with most good adventures?
Edited to look like an old surfer film, please enjoy the pure fun of a bicycle/camping/surfing road trip.
Rideable was awarded honorable Mention for Best Cinematography/Editing on Bikepacking.com Thanks guys!
